Style Hack : How to Winterize Spring Dresses

What do you do when you’re bored with all your winter clothes but there’s still snow in the forecast?! Pull out your spring dresses (or start shopping!) and winterize them with these style hacks.

Lighten Up

Don’t be afraid of prints and lighter colors like nude and blush. Stick to warm, gem tones that can be paired with black and stay away from bright, cool, neon colors. The same rule goes for prints. The print should be anchored with a dark color like black.

Layer it

Let’s be honest, it’s still pretty cold out! Try layering your look by wearing a turtleneck underneath your dress. Make sure the fabric matches the tone of the dress. AKA – don’t wear a cotton turtleneck underneath a fancy dress.

WINTERIZE

Winterize the look with black tights and booties. This instantly makes your look cold weather appropriate (and keeps you warm!). See some photos of one of my favorite blush dresses winterized here. I anchored the look with all black accessories – tights, booties, hat and coat. When the weather warms up, I’ll wear this blush dres with an open toe bootie or sandal and accessorize with a bright bauble earring!
