Spring has a special place in my heart. As a March baby, I always got to pick out a pretty floral dress to don on my birthday. So I jumped when The Garter Girl’s blog challenge involved 2017 trends. Of course we’ll see florals as the temperature rises, but here are a few of my favorite SS 2017 trends.

Shades of Yellow

As the weather changes, so does the color palette. Mustard has been on the scene for a few seasons, but this spring / summer, you’ll see all shades of yellow. This bright and cheery color is exactly what we need to cure our winter woes. Depending on your skin tone, yellow can be a difficult color to wear, so find the shade that works for you and rock it!

Sheer Lace

Last year, it was all about cutouts bearing your back, stomach and sides. Well don’t cover up just yet! This year,  you’ll still see cutouts and skin bearing silhouettes, but expect to see a sheer or illusion lace overlay. I, for one, am all about this classy update.

Bell Sleeves

Did anyone else find themselves swimming in fabric last year? Well, the volume is coming down through the body and appearing on the sleeves. Expect to see a sweet bell sleeve starting right above or below the elbow. I’m a huge fan of this feminine trend!
